Princeton's Famous Outdoor Flea Market has resumed for the 2010 season effective April 24th. If you were one of the many thousands of people who visited the flea market in the past, we hope that you enjoyed browsing and shopping for the many treasures available at the market and we look forward see you again soon.
Thank you visitors, food booth groups and the many people involved in making this event happen for more than 39 years. A special thanks to Mike Jacobi who has given his time for 39 years to get the vendors set-up every Saturday morning at 6:00am and for keeping everything running so smoothly!
“Wisconsin’s Largest Weekly Outdoor Market” is famous throughout the Midwest and is held every Saturday from mid-April through mid-October in Princeton’s tree-shaded City Park on the east side of Hwy 23.
The hours of operation are approximately 6am to 1:30pm. It attracts thousands of shoppers weekly and specializes in antiques, collectibles, locally grown vegetables & plants, fresh baked goods, cheese and sausage, candy & nuts, jams, honey, spices and other “good-old-stuff”. In the spring, the market brims with vegetable plants and flowers in a rainbow of hues for your garden. Later in the season you’ll find fresh picked cucumbers, tomatoes and everything you’d find in a garden
Admission and parking is free and there is an abundance of great things to eat. The historic food stand that is staffed by volunteers from local service organizations serves snacks, sandwiches and beverages (add link to Food Booth Group list) every Saturday but there are other vendors serving a wide variety of delectable delights including egg rolls, heavenly donuts and much more.
“In central Wisconsin, shoppers flock to Princeton like bees to clover” says Beth Gauper, staff columnist at Travel Inc. Pat Dillon from Madison Magazine wrote “Princeton stays on my list of favorite little communities in Wisconsin. What more can I say?”. Sarah Cooke of the Northwestern says “the Flea Market offers the weird, the old, and chintzy – walking through the weekly Flea Market in the City Park here can best be compared to rifling through a box of Forest Gump's chocolates-you never really know what you're going to get".
Princeton is conveniently located just 35 miles west of Highway 41 or 2 miles east of US Hwy 51/139. Madison residents find the 1hr and 15 minutes drive easy and relaxing and well worth the short drive.
